In 1993 Pat Torres and Kopi Vogiatzis opened the first Escalante's location in Houston, honoring the recipes of Pat's grandmother Barbara Escalante. For thirty years, Escalante's has helped define the Tex-Mex dining tradition in Houston.

Timeless & Traditional
We believe in doing the classics right. We make both flour and corn tortillas by hand fresh to order. We ripen avocados in our kitchen until they are perfect for guacamole. Our Queso Blanco recipe is famous across Houston. And our beef fajitas use only center-cut outer skirt steak, marinated overnight and cooked medium-rare on a piping hot skillet.
